Azza-D isn't new to this. He's been in the trenches of the Australian hip hop scene since before it was cool to call it that — a day one in the truest sense, one of those artists who was putting in the work while the rest of the world was still figuring out what the genre was.

Then he walked through the doors at Last Dart Records, and something unexpected happened.

Teaming up with label artist Abel Lamont, Azza-D found himself making music he'd never made before. The result is something the pair have started calling "hip-pop": a fusion sound that sits right at the intersection of hip hop's raw energy and pop's undeniable pull. The calibre of the collaborators tells the story. Finchy, lead singer of The Terrys, is already on a track — a feature that speaks to where Azza-D sits right now,

SECRET TREEHOUSE

12.png

This is the debut album from Azza-D, and it lands like a fucking statement.

Secret Treehouse is 10 tracks of relentless, hard-hitting hip hop that doesn't sound like anything else coming out of Australia right now.

The Australian hip hop scene has been running the same playbook for a while. Azza-D isn't interested in that. Secret Treehouse cuts its own path — distinct, full of personality, and unapologetically itself. Dare yourself to press play and not get hooked.
